The Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, through its Smart IP for Latin America (SIPLA) initiative, organized the webinar “Compensation for the Transformation of Copyright-Protected Works in the Digital Environment: A Mechanism to Balance the Interests of Right Holders and Users”, held on 14 April 2026. The event brought together experts from Latin America and Europe to discuss the legal and economic challenges arising from the transformation of protected works in digital environments, as well as potential compensation mechanisms aimed at balancing the interests of copyright owners and users.
